Liwa, a haggard Peales
Tiercel with impeccable manners, is a
seasoned pigeon hunter and capable of
breathtaking aerial manoevres. When he sets
his mind to it, there is no bird that can
outfly this big-hearted little peregrine. A
bird that was bred in captivity in Dubai,
his forefathers hail from the Pacific
Islands. He is trained to fly to great
height at a lure suspended beneath a
helium-filled balloon. This is a modern
method used to teach a falcon to attain a
high pitch from which to stoop gamehawk
style at quarry like ducks. |
